Identify Your XC60 Key, Then Replace Its Battery Correctly

This key takes one CR2032 3 V battery with its positive side facing up, as specified in Volvo’s removable-shell standard-key procedure.

1. Hold the key with the Volvo logo facing upward.
2. Move the catch at the keyring bracket.
3. While holding the catch, slide the front shell away from the key.
4. Find the second catch exposed beneath the removed front shell.
5. Operate that catch and slide off the rear shell.
6. Use a coin, screwdriver, or another suitable tool to rotate the round battery cover anticlockwise.
7. Press the edge of the old battery to loosen it, then lift it out.
8. Hold the replacement by its edge and place one CR2032 3 V battery into the compartment with the positive side facing up.
9. Position the battery’s edge beneath the two outer plastic catches.
10. Press the battery down beneath the upper catch so that it sits securely.
11. Refit the round battery cover and rotate it into the closed position.
